FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about shipping with Atlas Security Company

Sea Freight

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

Full Container Load (FCL) means you use an entire container exclusively for your cargo. Less than Container Load (LCL) means your cargo shares container space with other shipments. FCL is faster and better for large volumes; LCL is more economical for smaller shipments.

How long does sea freight take?

Transit times vary by route. Typical examples: West Africa to Europe: 14–21 days. Asia to Europe: 25–35 days. USA to West Africa: 18–28 days. We provide estimated dates at the time of booking.

Air Freight

What is the maximum weight for air freight?

Single pieces can generally go up to 1,000 kg, but we handle larger shipments using charter aircraft. Air freight is ideal for cargo under 500 kg where speed is critical.

Tracking

How do I track my shipment?

Enter your tracking number (starting with ATL) on our Track page. You'll see every status update, location, customs events, and estimated arrival. Our tracking is updated in real-time by our operations team.

My tracking number shows no results — what should I do?

Tracking data may take 4–6 hours to appear after booking. If it has been more than 24 hours, please contact our support team with your booking reference number.

Customs

Do you handle customs clearance?

Yes. Our licensed customs brokers handle all import/export documentation, tariff classification, duties, and clearance at both origin and destination. This is included in our international shipment services.

What documents are required for international shipping?

Typically required: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (sea) or Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin (if applicable), and any special permits for controlled goods. Our team will advise you on the exact requirements for your specific route.

Insurance

Is my cargo insured?

All shipments include basic coverage. We strongly recommend Full Value Insurance for high-value cargo. Insurance is arranged at the time of booking — declare the full value of your goods for proper coverage.

What happens if my cargo is damaged?

Report damage within 7 days of delivery with photos of the packaging and goods. Our claims team processes claims within 10 business days. Ensure cargo is insured at booking for full protection.

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer (T/T), Letters of Credit (LC), and credit cards for online quotes. Enterprise accounts can be arranged with monthly invoicing. Contact our finance team for details.

Do I need an account to ship with Atlas?
